Notes

'Brandywine' red maple (Acer rubrum 'Brandywine') is a tree for specimen planting, shade, rain gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast into an oval shape and flowers in spring, which draws bees, butterflies, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Give it plenty of room to reach its full size.

Pairs well with River birch, Spicebush, Cinnamon fern, and Joe-pyeweed.
