Notes

'Franksred' red maple (Acer rubrum 'Franksred') is a tree for specimen planting, shade gardens, winter interest, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Red flowers open in spring and attract butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows fast, forms an oval shape, and tolerates drought.

Pairs well with White fringe tree, Sensitive fern, Sedge, and Cheerfulness daffodil.
