Brest tulip

Garden uses

Notes

'Brest' tulip (Tulipa 'Brest') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. The purple-red flowers open from early to late spring. They sit on stems about 18 inches tall, so they work well in the middle of a border and in a vase. Vertuco B.V. bred it.

Pairs well with Bridal Crown daffodil, Cat's Pajamas nepeta, and Claire de Lune peony.
