Notes

'Brucie' peony (Paeonia 'Brucie') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The big single red blooms have golden-yellow centers and a sweet fragrance. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. William Henry Krekler bred it, and its sturdy stems hold up the flowers well.

Pairs well with Dense blazing star, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
