Notes
'Buddy' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Buddy') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The semi-double flowers are a large, clear, warm flesh pink with three or more rows of guard petals. They stand well above the foliage. The plant grows to about five feet high, and Elmer A. Claar bred it.
Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Black Parrot tulip.
