Notes

'By Jove' peony (Paeonia 'By Jove') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It grows about 35 inches tall and bears single, fragrant, dull red-wine blooms. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers, and William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Stained Glass hosta, Love-in-a-mist, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
