Notes

'Caesarion' peony (Paeonia 'Caesarion') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Light-yellow, fragrant, semi-double flowers open early and face upward, and bees and butterflies visit them. Support the stems when the flowers are fully open. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Standing Ovation little bluestem, Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta, and Queen of Night tulip.
