Notes
Canadian burnet (Sanguisorba canadensis) is a perennial for pollinator gardens, meadows, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes moist to wet soil. It bears dense, upright spikes of small white flowers with fuzzy stamens that bees visit, and it can reach 72 inches tall. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Give the tall stems room to grow.
Pairs well with Big bluestem, Virginia spiderwort, and Ruby Spice sweet pepperbush.
