Notes

Canadian rush (Juncus canadensis) is a grass for rain gardens, pond edges, and wet meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun or part shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its stout, rigid stems carry many small green flowers in mid summer. Birds visit the plant. It is hard to find in cultivation, so look for it at specialty growers.

Pairs well with Empress Wu hosta, Corn mint, and Bush honeysuckle.
