Notes

'Canary' weigela (Weigela subsessilis 'Canary') is a shrub for hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It grows 48 to 60 inches tall and wide, so it makes a full screen when you plant it in a row. Yellow flowers open in mid to late spring and brighten the garden after winter. Give each shrub room to spread so the branches can fill out evenly.

Pairs well with Queen of Sweden rose, Gladiator ornamental onion, and Rouge Cardinal clematis.
