Cape coast lily (Crinum macowanii) is a bulb for borders, containers, and fragrant gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and moist soil. It has broad, rippled, blue-green leaves. Large white trumpets with pink keels on the back open from early to late summer and smell sweet. Bulbs reach adult blooming size at around 5 to 6 years old.
