Notes

'Captain Alcock' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Captain Alcock') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large Japanese type flowers are mauve or purple with rose-pink shading. They open in early summer and sit close to the foliage on a compact, short plant. Kelway bred it.

Pairs well with Incrediball hydrangea, Switchgrass, and Stargazer lily.
