Notes

'Chancellor' small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata 'Chancellor') is a tree for specimen planting, shade, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It grows at a moderate rate with an erect habit. Pale yellow, fragrant flowers open from early to late summer and draw bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds. Once settled in, it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with White oak, Blue Muffin arrowwood viburnum, Hosta, and Sensitive fern.
