Notes

'Charity' peony (Paeonia 'Charity') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. The single flowers are bright deep cherry crimson with a silky lustre and a sweet scent. Saunders bred it, and the foliage is large and heavy.

Pairs well with Blue Angel hosta, Little bluestem, and Nodding onion.
