Notes

'Charlene' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Charlene') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears large white double blooms in late spring. The cream or white flowers make a bold show in the garden and look fine in a vase. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.

Pairs well with Cheerfulness daffodil, Sedge, Blue sage, and Ostrich fern.
