Notes

'Charles de Belleyme' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Charles de Belleyme') is a perennial for borders and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Verdier bred it in 1860. The semi-double, crimson blooms open in early summer on strong red stems and have a loose, globular form. The compact clumps have medium green leaves with red veins.

Pairs well with Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea, Sedge, Ostrich fern, and Blue sage.
