Notes

'Charlotte' tartarian aster (Aster incisus 'Charlotte') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It forms a clump of blue flowers that bloom in spring, summer, and autumn, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Black-eyed Susan, Munstead lavender, Sea holly, and Ornamental onion.
