Notes

Tartarian aster (Aster tataricus) is a perennial for borders, fall color, and back-of-the-bed height. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. Tall stems reach 36 to 72 inches and spread 24 to 36 inches, so give it room. Violet-blue flowers with yellow centers open in early autumn.

Pairs well with Blonde Ambition blue grama, Black Oil sunflower, and Maiden pink.
