Notes

'Cheddar Cheese' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Cheddar Cheese') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, full double rose type flowers are sulphur yellow and open in early summer. Roy G. Klehm bred it from Monsieur Jules Elie and Klehm #71D, and it blooms reliably.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Aromatic aster, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Royal fern.
