Notes
'Cheddar Surprise' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Cheddar Surprise') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant white rose flowers have gold petaloids and staminodes throughout the blossom. Roy G. Klehm bred it, and it grows about 28 inches tall on sturdy stems.
Pairs well with Pale purple coneflower, Foxtail barley, Picture tulip, and Sensitive fern.
