Notes

'Cherokee Brave' dogwood (Cornus Florida 'Cherokee Brave') is a tree for borders, specimen planting, shade gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White bracts cover the spreading crown in spring, and red fruits follow. Deer tend to pass it by. The leaves turn scarlet-red in fall, and birds eat the fruit.

Pairs well with Oakleaf hydrangea, Autumn fern, and Sedge.
