Notes

'Red Pygmy' dogwood (Cornus Florida 'Red Pygmy') is a small tree for borders, specimen planting, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Rose-red blooms open from early to late spring and attract butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It grows at a moderate pace to between 3 and 7 feet tall.

Pairs well with Oakleaf hydrangea, Christmas fern, Bloodroot, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
