'Cherry Twist' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Cherry Twist') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The cherry red blooms have magenta and cream tones, ruffled petals, and yellow stamens. They carry a slight fragrance and open in early summer. William Henry Krekler bred it.
Pairs well with Wild ginger, Queen of Night tulip, and Ostrich fern.
