Notes

'Chic' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Chic') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The red double blooms open in late spring and have a bomb shape. Strong stems make it dependable for cutting, and the cut flowers store well. Alonzo B. Franklin bred it.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Hairy aster, and Sensitive fern.
