Notes

'Chief Gold' celosia (Celosia argentea 'Chief Gold') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, and accents. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Its yellow, golden blooms open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and butterflies and bees visit them. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The plants are sturdy and uniform, with strong stems.

Pairs well with Profusion zinnia, Lantana, and Black Star gladiolus.
