Notes

'Chief' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Chief') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, light pink flowers have a full rose form and a sweet fragrance. They open late in spring on stiff, upright stems. Alonzo B. Franklin bred it.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Hairy aster, and Sensitive fern.
