Notes

'Chinese Dragon' peony (Paeonia 'Chinese Dragon') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Single crimson blooms have large, dark red flares and open from spring into early summer. Butterflies visit the flowers, and the finely cut foliage has bronze tips. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Blue star, and The President clematis.
