Notes

'Christine' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Christine') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large white blooms open in early to mid spring. The Japanese type flowers have narrow, thread-like filaments. The plant grows tall and stiffly erect, and Paillet introduced it in 1899.

Pairs well with Siberian iris, Queen of Night tulip, and Wild bergamot.
