Notes

Cinquefoil (Potentilla atrosanguinea) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Dark red flowers open from early to late summer and attract butterflies. It tolerates drought once settled in. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, September Charm anemone, and Ornamental onion.
