Notes

Sulphur cinquefoil (Potentilla recta) is a perennial for pollinator gardens and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and stands erect, reaching 12 to 30 inches tall. Yellow flowers open in spring and again in summer, and bees visit them. The gray-green leaves add soft color between blooms.

Pairs well with Hairy aster, Indian grass, and Nodding onion.
