Notes

Tormentil (Potentilla erecta) is an herb for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Yellow flowers appear in spring and again in summer, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It stays 12 to 18 inches tall and wide.

Pairs well with Jacob Cline spotted beebalm, Blue Paradise garden phlox, and Angelica.
