Notes
'Clear Sailing' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Clear Sailing') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant rose-red flowers have purple shading and open in mid to late spring. Each bloom is about 8 inches wide, and the stiff stems hold it up well. Gilbert H. Wild & Son bred it.
Pairs well with Wild geranium, Black chokeberry, and Sensitive fern.
