Notes
'Cloud Nine' switchgrass (Panicum virgatum 'Cloud Nine') is a grass for borders, accents, rain gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet soil of most types. It forms a clumping mound that grows 60 to 84 inches tall, and butterflies and birds visit it. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Golden yellow blooms appear in summer.
Pairs well with Little bluestem, Black-eyed Susan, and Great blue lobelia.
