Notes

'Dallas Blues' switchgrass (Panicum virgatum 'Dallas Blues') is a grass for borders, accents, rain gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy or clay soil. It grows in a clump that stands 48 to 72 inches tall, and butterflies and birds visit it. Deer tend to pass it by. The purple-tinged blooms appear in summer.

Pairs well with Blue wild indigo, Red twig dogwood, and Little bluestem.
