Notes

'Colorado Star' artichoke (Cynara cardunculus 'Colorado Star') is a perennial for food gardens, borders, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy or clay soil. Bees and butterflies visit the summer blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It grows rapidly in a clump and takes 75 days to reach maturity.

Pairs well with African marigold, Mondo grass, and Anemone.
