Notes

'Columbia' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Columbia') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears coral-red blooms that look lovely in a vase. George Hollis bred it from an unnamed seedling crossed with Rosalind Elsie Franklin.

Pairs well with Culver’s root, Japanese spirea, and Sensitive fern.
