Notes

'Composure' peony (Paeonia 'Composure') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Yellow blooms with a pink tint open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Derek Irvine bred it.

Pairs well with Primrose, Korean spice viburnum, and Big bluestem.
