Notes

Corncob cactus (Euphorbia mammillaris) is a succulent for containers, rock gardens, and low maintenance spots. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. It grows as an erect, green plant that reaches 12 to 24 inches tall and bears yellow blooms. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Kiwi aeonium, Campfire pygmy weed, Soap aloe, and Stonecrop.

Native range

Cape Provinces and South Africa.
