Notes

'Crixus' peony (Paeonia 'Crixus') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Satiny red semi-double flowers look like old-fashioned roses, and the color does not fade. Ruud Warmerdam bred it. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Hosta, Indian grass, and Charles Joly lilac.
