Notes

'Cruquius' tulip (Tulipa 'Cruquius') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. The purple-red blooms open from early to late spring on stems about 14 inches tall. Each flower has a violet-ringed blue center and dark purple to black pollen. Vooren bred it.

Pairs well with Ice Follies daffodil, Many Happy Returns peony, and Ernest Markham clematis.
