Notes

'Curiosity' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Curiosity') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, violet-red blooms have yellow tips in the center and open in early summer. Auguste Dessert bred it in 1886. The tall, upright stems are strong, so they hold the large flowers well.

Pairs well with Nepeta, Sedge, Shrub rose, and Cheerfulness daffodil.
