Notes
Alpine cyclamen (Cyclamen purpurascens) is a bulb for containers, woodland gardens, and shady borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade. The pink flowers are sweetly fragrant and open in late summer and fall. The mottled, heart-shaped leaves can stay on the plant without going dormant, so you get foliage interest for much of the year.
Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, Lady fern, and Snowdrop.
