Notes

Hardy cyclamen (Cyclamen rohlfsianum) is a bulb for containers, rock gardens, and shady spots with fragrant fall color. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes part sun and dry soil. Magenta-pink flowers open in early to late autumn and smell sweet. The maple-like leaves have silvery marbling. Keep it dry in summer, because wet soil can make the bulb rot while it rests.

Pairs well with Cleveland sage, California fescue, and Cape primrose.
