Notes

'Daedalus' peony (Paeonia 'Daedalus') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Dark red, semi-double blooms open in late May and are fragrant. Strong stems hold each bloom upright. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Sweet William, Nelly Moser clematis, and Grape hyacinth.
