Notes

'Dandy Dan' peony (Paeonia 'Dandy Dan') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It has fragrant, semi-double, dark red blooms that attract butterflies and bees. Edward Auten, Jr bred it from Officinalis and Albiflora parents.

Pairs well with Krossa Regal hosta, Nodding onion, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Annabelle hydrangea.
