Notes

'Dark Chocolate' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Dark Chocolate') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The semi-double blooms are deep chocolate red and open in early to mid spring. Each stem holds 2 to 3 buds, and the stems are strong. Roy G. Klehm bred it.

Pairs well with Scentara Double Blue lilac, Sedge, and Sensitive fern.
