Notes

'Dark Knight' caryopteris (Caryopteris clandonensis 'Dark Knight') is a shrub for borders, containers, and xeriscape beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deep blue, fragrant flowers open in early to late summer, with more in early to late autumn, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Feather reed grass, Blue grama, and Avens.
