Notes

'First Choice' caryopteris (Caryopteris clandonensis 'First Choice') is a shrub for borders, containers, and xeriscape gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the fragrant flowers. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Coneflower, Black-eyed Susan, Stonecrop, and Feather reed grass.
