Notes

'Dark Rose' gaura (Oenothera lindheimeri 'Dark Rose') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry soil. It forms a rounded mound of green leaves topped with upright spikes of deep rose-pink blooms. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Butterflies visit the flowers from early to late summer and again in early to mid autumn.

Pairs well with Meadow sage, Autumn moor grass, and Star of persia.
