Notes
'Davenport' tulip (Tulipa 'Davenport') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It bears dark purple-red blooms from early to late spring. The stems reach 12 to 24 inches tall, so they suit cutting. Vertuco B.V. bred it.
Pairs well with Greig's tulip, Thalia daffodil, and Claire de Lune peony.
